Attorney Michael R. Lowe

Firm founder Michael R. Lowe concentrates his Florida-based law practice on the representation of physicians and physician group practices in business, transactional, litigation, professional licensure, regulatory, operational and administrative matters. The practice includes issues of Stark II, fraud and abuse, HIPAA, managed care contracting, compliance, Medicare/Medicaid matters, physician employment agreements and medical malpractice defense.

A former lieutenant and aviator in the U.S. Navy, he is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy (B.S., with distinction, 1988) and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law (J.D., summa cum laude, Order of the Coif, 1996). Mr. Lowe also holds a Master of Arts (M.A., with honors, 1989) in National Securities Studies from Georgetown University. He received the distinction of becoming a Board-Certified Health Law Attorney by the Florida Bar in 2004. Board certification acknowledges lawyers who demonstrate special knowledge, skills, experience and proficiency in health law and who successfully complete the health law certification exam. It is the highest level of recognition provided by the Florida Bar.

Mr. Lowe is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the Health Law Section of the American Bar Association and the Health Law Section of the Florida Bar. He is also a member of the Georgia Bar and past chair of the Medical/Legal Committee of the Orange County Bar Association.

 

Jack T. Cook

Jack T. Cook, Esq., Of Counsel

Jack T. Cook serves as Of Counsel, focusing on the representation of physicians and physician group practices primarily in litigation defense and also in business, transactional, professional licensure, regulatory, operational and administrative matters. A former history and U.S. Government teacher and U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant, he graduated from the University of North Carolina (B.A., History) and received his Juris Doctor from Florida A&M University (J.D., with honors). Previously, Mr. Cook owned and operated a solo law practice in Daytona Beach, Florida, focusing on personal injury and wrongful death litigation. He brings extensive experience in the fields of tort litigation and injury law, having worked as an integral member of two prominent personal injury law firms. Mr. Cook is a member of the Florida Bar (Health Law and Trial Lawyers Sections) and the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA).

 

Jennifer Moss

Jennifer L. Moss, Florida Registered Paralegal

With over a decade of paralegal and legal assistant work experience, Florida Registered Paralegal Jennifer L. Moss joined the firm in 2011. Ms. Moss graduated from Wichita State University (B.S., cum laude, 2005) and was on the National Dean's List during 2004 and 2005. She currently provides paralegal assistance in the areas of medical malpractice, health care law, civil litigation, professional licensure disciplinary and Florida Department of Health/administrative litigation cases, and Medicare overpayment and federal administrative law cases.

Ms. Moss' past paralegal experience also includes work in the areas of personal injury, nursing home negligence, worker's compensation, 1st DCA and 5th DCA appellate litigation, social security disability and appeals/pension/FRS, criminal defense, bankruptcy and family law.

Her professional experience has encompassed office administrative support, human resources, technology support, plaintiff/defense litigation, jury selection, second chaired civil/criminal trials and notary public.
